Dermatite da contatto e disidrosi

Contact dermatitis is an allergic/inflammatory skin disease characterized by reddening, swelling and itching of the interested areas, due to the contact with foreign substances to which the organism is hypersensitive.

 

This hypersensitivity causes an infiltration of white blood cells and then an inflammation in the areas of the skin that came into contact with the foreign agent.

Healthy practices : 

Avoid contact with the substances causing hypersensitivity. If this is not possible, wear at least protective gloves.

Useful plants : 

Aloe gel, Calendula, Oenothera, Gingko biloba, Liquorice, Blackcurrant.

Acne vulgar

Acne generally occurs during adolescence as variably numerous big pimples with a white-yellowish top mainly on the face and back.

 

Acne pimples create because some bacteria in the skin enter the sebaceous glands whose function is to produce fat (also called sebum) to keep the skin softer and more elastic, and infect them, causing inflammation and the production of small quantities of pus.

 

Healthy practices : 

Taking good skin care by using specific products. Follow a high-fibre diet -especially from vegetables, fruit and whole food- low in saturated fats. Drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day.

Useful plants : 

Burdock, Eugenia, Melaleuca, Olive, Propolis, Thymes.

Eczema

Eczema is an inflammatory and allergic skin disease that causes redness, itching, desquamation and appearance of minuscule blisters, that in some cases merge together.

 

Although eczema may affect any part of the body, it affects more frequently the trunk and arms. In the majority of the cases it is triggered by allergic reactions to specific substances, but may be inherited, derive from a prolonged contact with an irritating substance or appear for unknown reasons.

 

Healthy practices : 

To avoid scratching, cover the interested area with absorbent non-irritant material such as cotton. Avoid contact with the substances causing hypersensitivity.

Useful plants : 

Aloe gel, Calendula, Oenothera, Gingko biloba, Liquorice, Blackcurrant.

Solar erythema

Solar erythema is a skin irritation caused by prolonged exposition to the sunbeams.

 

As a matter of fact, the ultraviolet radiation of the sunlight penetrates into the skin causing a significant increase of free radicals, to which a more or less intense inflammatory reaction responsible of the problem follows.

 

Healthy practices : 

Expose gradually and in moderation to the sun and protect during the exposition with photoprotective lotions. In case of intense sunburns, avoid solar exposition until complete recreation of new skin.

Hives

Hives is also known as nettle rush as it is similar to the lesions caused by the contacts with nettle leaves.

 

Hives is a pathological manifestation characterized by the appearance of papulopustule as big as a twenty eurocents coin on the skin, slightly protruding, with the frame generally more reddish than the centre and highly itching.
